It was great this year to spend portions of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with all our children and grandchildren. What a blessing and, in today's world, what a rare opportunity!
Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the entire celebration was watching our grandson, Andrew Buchanan, age 2, open Christmas presents--his and everyone else's. He decided early on that opening presents was great fun. And so, most of us allowed him to open or help open all the Christmas presents.

Each time he would open the present to the point he could tell what was inside, Andrew would gasp with sheer delight and then declare the contents of the gift. One time, though, he opened oil for a lamp. He had no idea what the container holding the oil was, but he gasped anyway, and then when we asked what it was, he responded "I don't know." He didn't know what the content of the present was, but it was "gasp-worthy" nonetheless.
It was a joyous Christmas Day at the Rife home--and I hope at your home as well.
Cenia Parsons says:
I loved watching Andrew. He was so special to see the joy in his face. I liked the one where he tore the paper and gasped happily "A box".
We had great fun at the Rife home this Christmas season and New Years Eve to celebrate Janet's birthday. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.
